iBlueNova Download is Available on Cydia

Last week we broke the story that  MeDevil submitted iBlueNova to Cydia Store and finally the wait ends, because iBlueNova is now available in Cydia. iBluenova is successor of iBluetooth, the first iPhone app for the jailbroken iPhone to allow users to transfer files from their iPhone via Bluetooth, a feature which has been missing from the iPhone since its launch. Apple wouldn’t let you do it, thanks to Medevil to make it possible. iBluenova will allow users to transfer any file via Bluetooth to other devices. It also has a built-in file viewer which will allow users to send any file on their iPhone.

You can download bluetooth hack from Cydia Store exclusively through the iSpazio repo.  If you do not have iSpazio repo, you can add it manually by adding  “www.ispaziorepository.com” .
Regarding the license, all users who purchased iBluetooth in the past, will get free upgrade to iBlueNova.First time buyers can use it free for 15 days, after which you must purchase a license to continue.

Apple Bans iPhone Hackers Apple ID from App Store

Well it looks like Apple has started banning iPhone hackers from the iTunes App Store. Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer and hacker who recently found an exploit in the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3, which could enable the unlock on 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and 3G devices has been banned by Apple for the so called “security reasons”. This is what Sherif gets when he tries to access App Store from his iPhone.

App Store Ban
Sherif posted about the ban on his twitter account today. Saying:
"Your Apple ID was banned for security reasons", that’s what i get when i try to go to the app store, they must be really angry :) ))))
and guess what my apple ID was, "sherif_hashim@yahoo.com", what a fool was me not to notice :) )), can’t help laughing, they are babies :) ))
Another iPhone hacker named iH8sn0w who is behind Sn0wbreeze – the PwnageToolalternative for Windows also confirmed this action from Apple saying that his Apple ID was banned following the release of XEMN.
@sherif_hashim lol, they did that to my ih8sn0wyday[@t]googmail.com too. (right after I posted XEMN)…
It is to be noted here that the said exploit which Sherif found has not been released yet. The iPhone Dev-Team who tested out the exploit confirmed it as working but they didn’t gave any ETA on when or if they are going to release a tool which is going to unlockiPhone 3.1.3 05.12.01 Baseband for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Maybe they don’t want to waste this all important exploit for this minor update and instead will use it when the major update such as iPhone 3.2 or iPhone 4.0 is released with the next-gen iPhone 4G.

iPhone 3.1.3 Baseband 05.12.01 Unlock Exploit Found

A working exploit has said to be found by an iPhone hacker named Sherif Hashim. The exploit was sent to iPhone Dev-Team and they have confirmed that it is working but have not given any ETA on when or if they are going to release a tool which is going to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 05.12.01 Baseband for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Maybe they don’t want to waste this all important exploit for this minor update and instead will use it when the major update such as iPhone 3.2 or iPhone 4.0 is released with the next-gen iPhone 4G.

Fix 1604 Error During iPhone 3.1.3 IPSW Custom Restore

I have got loads of emails and queries via comments on the posts here and here where many of you have been asking on how to fix 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600 error in iTunes during firmware restore. This error is occurred when you are trying to restore yourjailbroken custom iPhone 3.1.3 .ipsw file which you cooked using either PwnageTool orsn0wbreeze. The error which iTunes throws may look like this.

The iPhone "[your iPhone]"  could not be restored. An unknown error occurred.
Fix 1604 Error iPhone 3.1.3
To get around this problem, there is a handy little tool called iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser) for Windows which can help you bypass the error when you are restoring .ipsw file in iTunes. The latest version of this program works with iPhone 3.1.3 firmware running on the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 1G/2G.
Follow the steps below to bypass this error so that you can restore iPhone 3.1.3 firmware in iTunes.
Step 1: Start iTunes and put your phone into DFU mode:
Press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time. After exactly 10 seconds release the Power button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point your iPhone/iPod touch screen will remain black.
Fix 1604 Error iPhone 3.1.3
Step 2: Now close iTunes and Start iREB on Windows.
iREB
Step 3: Simply select your device and wait for a few seconds until you get white or a red screen on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Step 4: Now open iTunes and select your phone from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold left “alt” button (“Shift” button on Windows) on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update”) button in the iTunes and then release the “Shift” button. Select a custom .ipsw file and restore it.
That’s it! iTunes should now be able to restore your iPhone or iPod touch to the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware without any problems. Hopefully you wont get any errors this time around!
One thing to note here is that iREB is not for jailbreaking. It is only used for restoring to custom .ipsw firmware files via iTunes without any errors.
You can follow our complete jailbreaking guide for iPhone 3.1.3 firmware for iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS and iPod touch 1G/2G using redsn0w 0.9.3redsn0w 0.9.4sn0wbreeze,PwnageTool 3.1.5. Unlocking can be done using ultrasn0w or blacksn0w.
For iPhone 3.1.2 firmware, you can use blackra1nPwnageToolredsn0wsn0wbreeze,ultrasn0w and blacksn0w to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone and iPod touch.

Downgrade iPhone 3G 3.1.3 Baseband 05.12.01 With Fuzzyband

Good news for those who upgraded their iphone3G to OS 3.1.3 and lost their baseband. As you know Apple introduced a new baseband 05.12.01 with iPhone OS 3.1.3 update, and latest baseband 05.12.01 is  un-hackable at the moment because Ultrasn0w/Blacksn0w doesn’t support. Bigboss released Fyzzyband 3.1.3-1 a while ago in Cydia. Fuzzyband Downgrader is a saferiPhone 3G Baseband Downgrader as this one detects your baseband and bootloader version and does the right thing first.
In other words Fuzzyband Downgrader detects your bootloader and baseband and downgrade it with a simple click if your bootloader is vulnerable to Fuzzyband . Fuzzyband Downgrader available in Cydia, just refresh your sources and search for Fuzzyband and install the application
Please Note :
  • Downgrading works from any version greater than 4.26.08. It will put your baseband back at version 4.26.08 which is hackable by ultrasn0w.
  • Downgrading only works on iPhone 3G with 05.08 (5.8) Bootloader from the factory. This is a very limited number of phones that were released in the first few weeks of the 3G production cycle.
  • If you do not know your bootloader then you can run Fuzzyband and it will report the version number for you.
  • iPhone 3GS and large numbers of iPhone 3G aren’t supported by the Fuzzyband, so in case your baseband is updated then wait for Dev team/GeoHot to release any workaround. This may take weeks or months.

Download Sn0wbreeze V1.5 to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3

Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 V1.5 has been released which adds support for iPod touch 2G (older non-MC model). For those of you who don’t know, Sn0wbreeze is a jailbreaking tool like PwnageTool for iPhone and iPod touch which can be used to create custom .ipsw files. But unlike the PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze is fully compatible to work with Windows machines.

Sn0wbreeze V1.5
Instructions for jailbreaking using sn0wbreeze V1.5 are exactly similar to the last release. Follow the complete step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iPhone and iPod touch using sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 V1.5. Once you are done with jailbreak, you can thenunlock your iPhone 3G and 3GS using ultrasn0w or blacksn0w.
I would strongly suggest iPhone 3GS users to stay away from this release as this release like all previous versions sends iPhone 3GS into an infinite loop after first reboot. If you have a Mac, I will strongly suggest you to use Dev-Team’s PwnageTool 3.1.5 which can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS (older bootrom and with baseband 04.26.08).
Alternatively, you can follow our complete jailbreaking guide for iPhone 3.1.3 2G and iPod touch 1G/2G using redsn0w 0.9.3 and using redsn0w 0.9.4 for iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod touch 1G/2G.
For iPhone 3.1.2 firmware, you can use blackra1nPwnageToolredsn0wsn0wbreeze,ultrasn0w and blacksn0w to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone and iPod touch.

Download the Original iPhone OS 3.1.3 firmware for iPhone
Download .NET Framework 3.5 (required to run Sn0wbreeze)

Downgrade iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 With Cydia SHSH

Apple released OS 3.1.3 very unexpectedly, OS 3.1.3 for iPhone 3GS is incompatible to jailbreak with redsn0w/pwnage tool/sn0wbreeze. So as of today, Apple has stopped signing 3.1.2 restore files. That means that if you have a 3GS iPhone you cannot restore any firmware other than 3.13.  If you guys updated to 3.1.3 and wanna get back to OS 3.1.2 or below here is the step by step guide to downgrade your iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 or below. This hack is useful only for those peoples who saved their SHSH to Cydia Server before the release of OS 3.1.3 via Cydia “make my life easier” button.

The process is very simple all you have to do is to add Saurik’s Server address to your system hosts file. This trick make iTunes thinks it is talking to Apple, it is talking to Cydia instead while the restoring process. Doing this will allow iTunes to access signatures already stored by Cydia “on file” feature. In simple words this duplicates the functionality exposed by Apple’s signature server, except using “on file” results rather than live request.
Note:
  1. This process is only for those who saved their SHSH to Cydia Server already.
  2. Don’t use this procedure for 3.0.1, because Saurik Server do not have signatures for 3.0.1
  3. Read the process and Saurik post two-three times before starting the process.
  4. iPhone unlockers note that by doing this you can downgrade your firmware only, your baseband is still at 05.12.01 which is un-hacked at the moment.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
How to Edit and Save Hosts file in Windows

  • Open Notepad with Administrative privileges by clicking StartAll Programs,Accessories, and thenright-click Notepad and select to open as Administrator.
    22_thumb

  • Now that Notepad is open with Administrative privileges browse to (C:WindowsSystem32driversetc) in Notepad and open the hosts file, and add the following entry to the bottom of the file.
    74.208.10.249    gs.apple.com                 <————
HostinNotepad_thumb
Now you navigate to files menu and save the hosts file. By doing this you changed the communication server, and then we will ensure that iTunes checks the firmware on the server rather than opens Saurik toApple! Because your ECID is on that server, the verification will fail and restore the previous version will be done without too many problems!

_____________________________________________________________________________________
How to Edit and Save Hosts file in Mac OS X
  • Navigate to /etc and look for hosts file, right click on hosts file and open with Text Edit, and add the following entry to the bottom of the file.
74.208.10.249   gs.apple.com            <————
Picture1_thumb1
  • Now save the file and click on Save As.Picture2_thumb1

  • Because Text Editor can’t save your system files, here comes the tricky part, in save as windows use the following settings. Or take a close look at the following image.
    Picture3_thumb1
  1. In Where locate to Desktop
  2. Uncheck the “ If no extension is provide, use .txt “ and then press the save button.
Picture4_thumb1
  • A host file will be appear on your Desktop, just drag and drop to /etc and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Press the Replace and enter your Password
Picture5_thumb1
By doing this you changed the communication server, and then we will ensure that iTunes checks thefirmware on the server rather than opens Saurik to Apple! Because your ECID is on that server, the verification will fail and restore the previous version will be done without too many problems!
____________________________________________________________________________________
Now you can do your Normal Restore to 3.1.3 (with Recovery Mode) and Downgrading from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 or below (with DFU Mode) as usual. For more details on Recovery Mode and DFU Mode read our previous article here.
____________________________________________________________________________________

  • Turn iPhone off.
  • Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
  • Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.

Downgrade iPhone 2G 3G OS 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 or lower

Dev team already warned don’t upgrade to 3.1.3 and wait for next version of Pwnage Tool to preserve your baseband. Upgrading to 3.1.3 with Ultrasn0w/Blacksn0w installed will cause people to lose their unlock and will be unable (for the time being) to get it back. OS 3.1.3 contains a baseband update 05.12.01 BB for iPhone 3G and 3GS. The latest  Modem Firmware 05.12.01 BB is not down gradable. So if you accidentally updated your iPhone 2G, 3G or 3GS to OS 3.1 here is the handy guide for downgrading.

Remember this will not downgrade your baseband only your firmware will be downgraded. It’s possible todowngrade OS however we strongly suggest you to carry on with OS 3.1.3 until Dev team update Pwnage Tool or redsn0w Tool.
Update for iPhone 3GS : So as of today, Apple has stopped signing 3.1.2 restore files. That means that if you have a 3GS iPhone you cannot restore any firmware other than 3.1.3 But in case you was wise/lucky enough to save your Cydia SHSH files on Saurik server follow the link below for iHackintosh guide.
Step by Step Guide to Downgrade iPhone 2G and 3G
Step 1: Make sure you have latest iTunes installed, Now connect your iPhone to your computer.
Step 2: Put your iPhone 2G/3G in DFU mode with following instructions.
  • Connect your iPhone to your computer.
  • Turn iPhone off.
  • Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
  • Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.
  • A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iPhone.
  • If the Restore Logo is present on the screen, you are in Recovery Mode, not DFU.
Step 3: Once your iPhone is in DFU mode following message will be appeared in iTunes. Click on “OK” , Now hold Option key while clicking Restore in iTunes and browse the OS 3.1.2 or below firmware for your iPhone 2G, 3G. Now the restore process will take 10 – 15 minutes.
Step 4: If you encountered an error message like 1011, 1013, 1015, just ignore them(Actually the firmware 3.0 is already successfully installed). Simply launch RedSn0w and do the Jailbreaking Unlocking process again. Check our guides on Jailbreaking iPhone here.
But if you encountered with error message like 1601, 1602, 1600 or anything else then try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and try again.
Disclaimer : This process is universal and tested several times though we are not responsible for and damage (if any) so use it at your own risk. If you like our work then consider to digg the story and help us by spreading the word.
