Its Time to Change Time. Its Time for Apple iWatch

Last week, we wrote about Apple iWatch concept which was designed by an Italian design house named ADR Studio. After getting thunderous response for his concept, the designer has now come up with a new video in which he shows his vision of what could be the next best thing from Apple.

He explains his concept as follows.

At WWDC 2010 Apple will announce … iWatch :
If Apple will make a great surprise to everyone?
If It will announce a brand new product?
It is obviously impossible, but ADR Studio has tried to imagine a new Apple style product, able to be with us every day.
Say “Hello” to iWatch.

Apple iWatch concept is a wrist device which features: Aluminum body, WiFi and Bluetooth, integrated RSS reader, 16GB storage (for music and pictures?), weather forecast system, connectivity with with iPhone and iPad, and an LCD projector to beam photos and videos on wall.

Apple Bans iPhone Hackers Apple ID from App Store

Well it looks like Apple has started banning iPhone hackers from the iTunes App Store. Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer and hacker who recently found an exploit in the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3, which could enable the unlock on 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and 3G devices has been banned by Apple for the so called “security reasons”. This is what Sherif gets when he tries to access App Store from his iPhone.

Sherif posted about the ban on his twitter account today. Saying:

"Your Apple ID was banned for security reasons", that’s what i get when i try to go to the app store, they must be really angry  ))))
and guess what my apple ID was, "sherif_hashim@yahoo.com", what a fool was me not to notice  )), can’t help laughing, they are babies  ))

Another iPhone hacker named iH8sn0w who is behind Sn0wbreeze – the PwnageToolalternative for Windows also confirmed this action from Apple saying that his Apple ID was banned following the release of XEMN.

It is to be noted here that the said exploit which Sherif found has not been released yet. The iPhone Dev-Team who tested out the exploit confirmed it as working but they didn’t gave any ETA on when or if they are going to release a tool which is going to unlockiPhone 3.1.3 05.12.01 Baseband for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Maybe they don’t want to waste this all important exploit for this minor update and instead will use it when the major update such as iPhone 3.2 or iPhone 4.0 is released with the next-gen iPhone 4G.

Recover iPhone 3GS from Apple Logo or Recovery Mode loop

Sometimes iPhone stucked at boot process and showed only an Apple logo (boot logo), some time it stucked on recovery mode loop i.e. iPhone starts in recovery mode after every restart. Here is a little tutorial on how to Recover iPhone 3GS from Apple Logo or Recovery Mode loop with the help of iRecovery. Thanks to Westbaer and Posixninja who made this awesome utility. iRecovery is a libusb-based command line utility for Mac OS X and Linux (perhaps Windows too). It is able to talk to the iBoot/iBSS in Apple’s iPhone/iPod touch via USB.

Run “ printenv “ comand in iRecovery and check your auto boot is set as false or true. For normal boot auto-boot should be set as true. If the auto-boot is flagged false then you have to set it as true. The following screenshot is from a iPhone 3GS which was stucked on Apple Logo, you can clearly see the auto-boot is set as false.

Here are the instructions below for changing your iPhone auto-boot from false to true with iRecovery for Windows and Mac OS X. Make sure while using iRecovery  your phone is on recovery mode, if it isn’t then put your phone in recovery mode using the following procedure.

• Turn the device completely off and disconnect it from cable/dock.
• Hold down the home button.
• While holding down the home button connect to a computer with a cable (easiest) or dock.
• Keep holding down the home button until you see a connect-to-iTunes screen You are now in recovery mode.

Instruction’s For Mac OS X :

1) Download iRecovery package for Mac OSX and Unzip iRecovery folder to desktop.

2) Open terminal and perform cd ~/desktop

3) Now change the permission of both files to 777 by following commands.

chmod 777 libusb-0.1.4.dylib

chmod 777 iRecovery

4) Now launch Showallfiles you downloaded earlier, and Navigate usr > lib and copy the file libusb-0.1.4.dylib into that folder.

5) Drag-and-drop the iRecovery file into the Terminal so that you get a shortcut to it.

6) Append ‘-s’ to the end and press enter.

7) Execute the following commands

        setenv auto-boot true

            saveenvs

      fsboot

If the phone is still on boot loop then once again, just run through the procedure again. When my phone was stucked on Apple mode, I repeated the procedure 3 times and on third attempt my phone restored to usable condition. So don’t panic if you don’t succeed in first attempt. If the attempts fails then try again and this time replace “fsboot” with “reboot”

Instruction’s For Windows :

1) Download irecovery for Windows and unzip to Desktop. Install libusb from the downloaded pack for Windows users only Mac users can skip this step. If you are on Windows Vista then follow the steps given below to install Libusb-Win32.

• Right click on this file. Select Properties | Compatibility Click the “Run this program in compatibility mode” box and select  “Windows XP (Service Pack2)” from the drop down list.
• Right click again and select “Run as “Administrator”. Follow the installation instructions. Running the test program list the usb devices plugged into my computer – but not my new device.

2) Start iRecovery in Terminal / Console with iRecovery -s

3) Execute the following commands:

setenv auto-boot true

                saveenv

                fsboot

If the phone is still on boot loop then once again, just run through the procedure again. iPhone Stuck on Apple Logo After Installing an App from Cydia

Some times after installing an App from Cydia when you respring/reboot the device it stuck at the apple logo, iTunes will recognize that “an” iPhone is connected to it, but it wont identify the iPhone as being your iPhone. Every time you turn it on it goes back to the apple logo. Here is the little fix hat will help you to fix this problem. First of all download and install iPhoneBrowser. When you run iPhoneBrowser, the software might say that no iPhone is found. If that is the case, than disconnect and reconnect your device and iPhoneBrowser will recognize it. Once iPhone browser recognizes your phone follow the following steps and you’ll be fine.

• Navigate to /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist and backupcom.apple.Springboard.plist to your PC.
• Download and install EditPadLite from EditPad Lite – Free Text Editor for Windows . Than renamecom.apple.Springboard.plist tocom.apple.Springboard.plist.txt
• After changing the file extension form .plist to .txt, open it wit EditPadLite ( Wordpad or Notpad wont work ) and edit the file by removing the the offending key in the DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES

Apple Blocked Jailbreak in iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 OOB

Yesterday chrismorty asked me regarding his just bought iPhone 3GS jailbreak problem. chrismorty told me that he purchased a new iPhone 3GS and he tried both blackra1n and pwnage 3.1.4, after the jailbreak process when he reboots the phone it enters in to black coma mode. After reboot, it just turned black and didn’t reboot, what you can do is only restore.Mathieulh confirmed that the very recent iPhone 3GS haz an iBoot update. Apple updated iBoot –359.3 to iBoot –359.3.2 and the latest iBoot isn’t vulnerable to the 24kpwn exploit.

If you purchased your 3GS a week before and you are facing any problems with your jailbreak pocess then check your iBoot version, simply put your phone in DFU mode and then check in System Profiler for the iBoot version. In short until Dev team founds a new hole  in the new bootrom normal jailbreak would be impossible. The only possibility would be that of a tethered jailbreak but it is quite inconvenient as you have to re-run the jailbreak every time you restart the phone. So if you are planning to buy a new iPhone 3GS then note both blacka1n and pwnage tool will not work for you.
