GreenPois0n ETA
I guess sunday will be a funday after all :-P
10/10/10 10:10:10AM GMT
Things have progressed to the point where we don’t expect anymore roadblocks. ETA for greenpois0n is 10/10/10 at 10:10:10AM
For those of you who don’t know, GreenPois0n is based on a low-level bootrom exploit which will pwn all supported current iOS devices for life. Apple wont be able to patch it in the next firmware update. They will have to release a revised version for the mentioned iOS devices in order to patch the hole. GreenPois0n will also hacktivate iPhone 4, running iOS 4.1.
Stay tuned to us as we will be bringing you complete how-to guides as soon as GreenPois0n is released to public on 10th of October! [via Twitter]
UPDATE 1: GreenPois0n is likely going to be an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.1.
UPDATE 2: MuscleNerd has confirmed that SHAtter exploit and GreenPois0n tool are only for the fourth-gen A4 devices like iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G, and iPad. It is not going to work on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 3G.

UPDATE 3: Apple TV 2G might also be supported.
@chronicdevteam: greenpois0n supports: The iPad, the iPhone 4, and the iPod touch 4. Probably the AppleTV as well.
UPDATE 4: MuscleNerd has now confirmed that GreenPois0n is going to be an untethered jailbreak for all fourth-gen iOS devices.
Those reading between the lines: Yes SHAtter itself is tethered. @comex came up with a way to untether it on 4.1/3.2.2
SHAtter is yet another breed of exploit. Bootrom-based but requires userland "assistance" for untethered boots (@comex did this for 4.1)
